Speaking about his appointment Chair Mr. John Rafter said: “We are delighted to welcome Nathan as Principal, he was an outstanding candidate for the role and we know he will bring much energy, enthusiasm and experience to the college. He is joining a vibrant campus with a superb teaching team and a growing student body. It is truly a unique school in an Irish context, one with a proud history and a very bright future”.
Speaking about his appointment Mr. Barrett said: “I am thrilled to be taking up the role of Principal in Stratford College, and I look forward to getting to know the whole community and working with the parents, staff and students especially over the coming months”.
Born in Dublin and educated at the University of Ulster and Trinity College Dublin Mr Barrett is currently pursuing a Masters in Educational Leadership at the University of Limerick, and a Diploma in Life and Leadership Coaching with the Centre for School Leadership.
He lectures on the Professional Master of Education at UCD, and is a School Placement Tutor on the BRelEd programme in DCU for which he was nominated for the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2021.Mr. Barrett is the author of Maestro a Junior Cycle Music textbook and Encore, a Leaving Certificate Music textbook both published by educate.ie.
