School is back and the Ombudsman for Children’s Office wants to hear from young people. #MoreThanSchool will run from Monday 15th March to Monday 12th April.
We know that school is about more than education. It’s about friends, fun and a chance for young people to be themselves, away from their family. We’ve heard from teachers and parents, from unions and the Department of Education. Now we want to hear from the young people.
We’re running a campaign to hear directly from young people about how they feel about going back to school and we’re looking for your support.
Are you nervous? Are you excited? What is your favourite thing about school? How has school changed during the pandemic? Your Covid-19 School Hero? What is the reality of homeschool?
We are asking children and young people to send us a video, a photo, a comment, a reel – anything that shows what going back to school means to them. At the end of the process a panel of judges, made up of young people, will select a winner and four runners up. An ipad and other prizes are up for grabs.

Stratford College opened its doors on Sunday 6th September for a vibrant Open Day and welcomed prospective students and their families, and members of the community. The event started with presentations from the principal, Mr. Barrett, from Chief Rabbi Wieder, the Chair of the Board, and an inspiring student representative.
On Monday 8th September Ms Skehan and her TY Geography students had their Geography class at the beach by the River Dodder.

On Friday morning, 4th September, there was huge excitement as 4th, 5th and 6th year students gathered in the hall with their Form tutors to go watch the amazing film - The Odyssey, written and directed by Christopher Nolan - in the Rathmines Omniplex cinema. In the IMAX1 cinema to be precise!
