Basket Ball - victory in quarter finals under 16 boys

Basketball Jnr 22 Nov2023
NEWS / 23 November 2023

Following a herculean victory in the qualifying quarterfinals under 16 boys basketball against a huge (400 boys in school) Ballinteer team.  Our Boys went into the quarter finals against a 350 boys school, Cabinteely.

Our squad was depleted with injuries in both games and some absentees. But again, Captain Tomer Gonen and vice-captain Liam Fuller produced amazing scores and tireless defence. Josh Sargeant and Ugo Oduro were immense putting in vital scores and working magnificent in defence. Mori Cox was a pillar in defence nullifying the threat of their 6-foot 4 inch number 12. Adam Keye and Finn Cawley contributed great scores and grew into the game. Brodie Byrne made his debut and worked very hard, and Shea Randles was mature beyond his years in game strategy and positioning.

Our junior national boys school team rendered brilliant and vocal support to their idols Shea and Tomer and our team showed fantastic role models to the younger supporting primary school basketballers.

Huge thanks again to our management team Zoe and Anna who have been amazing. Rock on our semifinal against Harolds Cross. We are so proud of our boys.
