TY students Aidan Mulligan and Nisha Siung write about the after-school tennis classes that take place every Thursday in Rathgar tennis club. Ms. Brouder who organises tennis encourages everyone to join - whatever their level of experience.

Tennis is on every Thursday from 16:00 until 17:00 at Rathgar Tennis Club, where we are coached by a professional tennis player.

Tennis is an enjoyable sport. It is very beneficial, you get exercise, learn new skills and meet new people. Tennis is just as effective as jogging, as there is a lot of movement and speed. It helps the development of muscles and it develops tactical training and coordination. If you don’t have any experience in playing tennis, you don’t need to worry as you will be taught and if you do have experience you can develop your skills.

Throughout the lessons you play fun games, matches and you are taught new skills. Tennis rackets and tennis balls are provided at the lessons, so you don’t need to buy any new equipment.

We encourage you to join tennis, for the physical, mental and social benefits. Thanks to
