NEWS / 29 November 2012

The 6th Year students launched the Acts of Kindness Campaign that is going to run throughout December at Assembly on Wednesday, 28th November. Fearghal Kelleher shared some really helpful ideas with the school.

This month, in conjunction with the nationwide campaign to improve mental health, Stratford College are running their own Acts of Kindness Campaign. For the month of December our students will aim to do an act of kindness every day. The most original and inspiring will be posted on our website. Our sixth year students launched our campaign at assembly this morning. This act releases our feel good hormones such as oxytocin and serotonin, giving our mood a natural boost. Please check out the film clip below for a more scientific explanation on what it makes us feel good to be kind.

After the activities we were all famished, our hunger was erased in an instant as the chefs there prepared delicious meals. Despite the mixed weather we still got into the water. We loved every second of it, but we also loved the hot showers afterwards! In our Irish class we expanded our vocabulary, learning new words for the activities we did, then wrote and performed scripts as Gaeilge that included the new vocabulary.
