I'm delighted to announce the Second Years as the Happiest Class this term! Well done Second Years, there was a dramatic increase in the amount of exercise done. Second years have been regular participants in our Thursday evening runs to Bushy Park; keep this up for the last term. The teachers and the Third Years share joint second place; both groups report excellent healthy eating habits and sleeping patterns. The Sixth Years reported a dip in their overall happiness. A low mood can be expected in the lead up to State Examinations, therefore it is essential that sixth years ensure that they are eating, sleeping and thinking well, and exercising at this challenging time in their lives. Looking to life after the exams is important, remembering that that this time will pass and the freedom of summer is only weeks away should help to alleviate the inherent pressures.
This term's focus was to become aware of what made us happy. We asked students and staff to bring awareness to the small things in our day that bring moments of happiness into our lives. By focusing our attention on these moments of happiness we can shift our attention away from the minor frustrations, that if we allow, can have the potential to ruin our day. This increased awareness of the beauty in our lives brings with it a renewed sense of gratitude for the richness of life. Please see below, for a poster illustrating your responses to the question 'What makes you happy?' and for the results of the Happiness Survey.
