Below is an analysis of our Happiness Survey (Click on blog title to see more graphs):

The results of December's Happiness Survey are in. Topping the teachers from the last survey are the first years with a rating of 93%, while the teachers scored a close second. Once more, both groups scored highly in sleep quantity, confirming the importance of sleep's contribution to personal happiness.

Well done to the first years for exercising more; you’ve improved by a whopping 20%. Ms Finnegan must be very proud. You’ve also managed to improve the quality of the food you eat too by nearly 20% also. Please try to keep up this effort over the holidays. The second years have also improved their exercise amount by 20%! Overall they have improved by 10%; congratulations second years!

Unfortunately, there was a drop in the amount of exercise the third years are doing. Third years need to remember the importance of exercise during this academic year: exercise gives you energy and will help you to stay focused during those long study sessions over the holidays. TY were on a par with their last survey, except for a slight dip in their exercise. TY have no excuse, get out running, skating, skiing over the holidays; you have loads of spare time to get fit this year, make the most of it!

Our senior students showed little fluctuation from our last survey. The fifth years experienced a worrying 10% decrease in exercise, while the sixth years retained a poor standard at 50%. On a positive note, the fifth years are eating more regularly and the sixth years have improved their sleeping quality by 7%. There is room for improvement across all areas; students must realise that in order to excel at their studies and in their personal lives they must fuel their bodies and minds with sufficient levels of sleep, good quality food and plenty of oxygen.

Lastly, the teachers reported an improvement in sleep quality by 20% and an overall improvement in exercise by 14%. Well done teachers, this makes for a fresh and motivated teaching staff!

Best of luck maintaining this standard over the holidays!
Remember: healthy bodies equal healthy minds!
