Stratford dresses up!
Read more →World Book Day, Thursday 7th March 2013 kicked off with a bang with a book sale in aid of St. Michael's House - "Bring a Book, Buy a Book". A great buzz was generated by the "Guess-the-teacher-behind-the-book" photo quiz. Straight after the book sale, each year was pitted against each other at form time to see who would win out in the word-search competition. Meanwhile there is an exhibition of old school books on display in the Library - pride of place being the 1851 edition of "Sophocles", in Greek, which is on loan from Ms. Mulligan. Mr. Conaghan, author and teacher, came in to launch the "Stratford College Writes" book, where each student contributed their best piece of work in their chosen subject. Mr. Conaghan also spoke about his writing experience to date, his rejections and his first published novel, "The Boy who Made it Rain". His second novel is due to be published shortly.
