Stratford College Productions presented Oliver! on two consecutive nights - Wednesday, 7th December and Thursday 8th December - to great applause. The huge amount of effort put in by the actors on-stage and the back-stage production, under the steady direction of Mr. Downes ensured that it was always going to be a great success. Well done to everyone and to Brendan for having the stage and seating arrangements in place.

On Monday, 5th December, Stratford College played host to a group of secondary school students from Israel who came to Ireland for a week as part of the Young Ambassadors of Israel programme. Thanks to Ms Donohoe and Ms Kenny for organising a fantastic day.

This year's Science Week was action-packed, with students going on field trips to various parts of Ireland. On Monday (21st), 5th and 6th Year students visited some of Trinity's Labs; Tuesday (22nd), 1st and 2nd Years went to W5 in Belfast; Wednesday (23rd), 3rd Years went to the Blackrock Castle Observatory in Cork and on Friday (25th) the whole school was treated to a surprise ... reptiles of all shapes and sizes. Throughout the week there were various activities in Science classes. Thanks to Ms. O'Sullivan and Mr. Fennell for organising such an engaging week. The reptiles were a huge hit!

Stratford College had a very busy Open Day on Sunday, 13th November. The school was full to capacity with families and prospective students. Stratford College students acted as guides and brought families around the school, where teachers were available to talk about teaching and learning in Stratford. Thanks to Brendan and Marion for having the school looking so well.

The annual Awards Ceremony was held on Friday, 28th October in the school hall. Rabbi Lent spoke about inspiring people in his speech. Students, teachers, parents and past-pupils were treated to a wonderful musical interlude from the 1st Year Choir under the steady guidance of Ms Conlon. Well done to all the students who received an Award on the day and to all students for their own personal achievements. Thanks to Ms Kenny, the Student Council and Brendan for organising the whole event.

On Tuesday, 27th September the ISPCC awarded Stratford College with an Anti-Bullying Shield Flag. It was raised as part of a whole school assembly. It was awarded after three years collaborative work with our students, teachers, Parents' Association and our Board of Management, to ensure that Stratford College actively and effectively tackles bullying. The TY students went to Delphi in early September where they were able to enjoy it to the utmost because of the beautiful weather. The TY students did lots of different activities - including canoeing, surfing and climbing - and according to Ms. Finnegan really pushed themselves to do things they normally wouldn't attempt.
