Harry McCann will be our Guest of Honour at our annual Awards Ceremony in October. Harry is  a 15 year old Entrepreneur. He founded and now runs Kid Tech. He founded Kid Tech back in November 2013 with the aim to "Teach the next generation Tech". They have received the backing and support of Viddyad, Blackberry, Norah Casey and British actor Stephen Fry.

He also recently founded and now running the Digital Youth Council with the help of Ciaran Cannon, TD, and the Director of Galway Education Centre, Bernard Kirk. The Digital Youth Council is the first of its kind In Europe, comprising of some of the top young people in tech in Ireland, the Youth Council aims to give a voice to young people involved in technology in Ireland and provide them with a platform to influence the National Digital Strategy, and the future of technology in education There are currently twelve members of the Youth Council, listed here www.digitalyouthcouncil.com which will be the main body of the movement. The Digital Youth Councils partners include big names like RTE Digital and Twitter.

Kid Tech & Digital Youth Council has featured in Irish Tech News, Digital Times, Youth Media Team, Irish Times, Irish Examiner, Today FM, KFM, Siliconrepublic, The Digital Hub, Kidscreen, Kildare Post, NACD, Journal.ie, TechCentral & The Huffington Post. I have also appeared on the Tv programs RTE Morning Edition, 3e FYI and more.

He has also done some work for big organizations including RTE Digital, Twitter and more in the area of Technology.

Harry has spoken and given several Keynotes at many events, including WWC Belfast, DojoConNI, Mobile Monday Cork, Excited in Dublin Castle, The Young creators Celebration in the NACD and more. He has appeared in a promotion video for Vodafone & ESB for there new Fibre Network. He was also The Huffington Post Young Entrepreneur of the Week.

Stratford wins in annual Ides of March Quiz

Hugh congratulations to Stratford College Classics students who came 2nd and 3rd in the annual Ides of March Quiz in Blackrock College on Tuesday 28th April. Students from schools all over Dublin and further afield participated. Stratford scored an Olympian 41/46 to take second place and 40/46 to take third place.  Thank you to Ms. Donohoe and Ms McGill for coordinating this great event.

Appointment of Delia Donohoe to Permanent Deputy Principal

Delia Donohoe has been appointed as Permanent Deputy Principal of Stratford College, following her tenure as Acting Deputy Principal since August 2023. This milestone marks her 21st year as a dedicated member of the Stratford community, where she has made a lasting contribution both in the classroom and in leadership.

Speaking about her appointment Chair of the Board of Management Ms. Aoife Cassidy said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Delia as Deputy Principal; she has been a leader and teacher at Stratford College for more than 20 years. During this time, she has served in an acting capacity as Deputy Principal, including over the last three years. She has strong leadership skills and an unwavering commitment and dedication to our school community. We have every confidence that she will continue to lead with the same energy, warmth and dedication in the years ahead. We are delighted to formally confirm Delia’s appointment and wish her every success in the role going forward.
