Alice Murphy (5th Year) gave a Student Council update at the 1st Year Assembly on Thursday, 18th April.
"The Student Council has hit the ground running after the Spring break. Four prefects attended the ISSU Annual General Meeting in the Department of Education. ISSU is a new organisation set up to be a voice for students. There are debates on policy. We were addressed by Minister of Education, Ruari Quinn, amongst others. There was also a speaker on bullying.
The Careers Night (held on Wednesday, 17th April) was fantastic - and very informative. There were people from all different careers such as accountants, publishers, musicians, entrepreneurs and a vet.
The Student Council will distributing a survey on the school uniform shortly, so it might be a good idea to think of any changes that we'd like to make.
With regards to Green Schools, boxes of used ink cartridges were removed from both Stratford Schools during the first week back after the holidays (10th April). The Green Schools committee is busy maintaining standards and preparing to try to get another Green Flag."
