NEWS / 26 August 2014

One of our parents, Dr Brian O’Neill was the Chairperson of the Internet Content Governance Advisory Group established by the government. The Group’s Terms of Reference included having regard to ‘the development of the internet as a platform for media consumption and dissemination of content on a pervasive basis’ and the ‘profound opportunities that the internet offers to society as a whole and to children and young people in particular’.

The report published in June by the task group, Report of the Internet Content Governance Advisory Group made several  interesting recommendations which will have an impact on educational and commercial policy over the next few years.

The Parents Association hope to invite Brian in to talk to us about some of their findings in the autumn.
