Read more →Wednesday, 18th May was a beautiful morning for a walk. The school set off from Crone Wood car park, to walk a part of the Wicklow Way which skirts Djouce Mountain. After a few food and drinks breaks the 10km walk ended above Lough Tay on the Roundwood-Glendalough road. Thanks to the 5th Year LCVP class and the TYs with Ms. Brouder for organising a great day which was all in aid of Green Peace. Go to the LCVP/Business blog for more details and photos.
Read more →The Sports Assembly was held as part of the Transition Year Graduation on Tuesday, 10th May. Prizes were presented to students who won events on Sports Day. Well done to everyone! Well done to the Transition Year students who also graduated on the same day. A lot of the TYs spoke about the experiences that they had during the year, with musical interludes throughout the Graduation. Thanks to Ms. Finnegan for ensuring everyone in the whole school had a terrific sporting year - particularly the 1st Year boys Basketball team who won their League Final!
Read more →This year's Sports Day, Thursday, 5th May, was the perfect day for a Sports Day - sunny but not too hot. Everyone was delighted, none more so than Ms. Finnegan and her group of helpers. The Sports Day timetable and teams were posted a week in advance, so that everyone knew what they had to do on the day. What a busy day for all concerned - Junior and Senior Basketball, Junior and Senior Soccer, 3-legged races for all years, Junior and Senior Sprints, Junior and Senior Tug-of-War, as well as the obstacle course and the sumo wrestling. Read more →For Seachtain na Gaeilge, Ms. Ivers, her Irish students, and in particular her 2nd Year and TY Irish students worked extremely hard to put together a fun and varied Seachtain na Gaeilge concert. From music, to singing, to drama and to dancing, the school had an enjoyable afternoon of all things Irish. To mark the 1916 commemorations and Proclamation Day, the Student Council read both the Irish Proclamation as read in 1916 and the Stratford College Proclamation written by students in preceding weeks during History. A big thank-you to Ms. Ivers for all her hard work.
Read more →Tuesday, 15th March 2016 was designated as Proclamation Day to celebrate the 2016 centenary celebrations of 1916. At 10.15am Stratford National School and Stratford College pupils, along with teachers (both present and retired), staff and parents assembled in front of the school. The 6th class pupils read the Proclamation that they wrote, followed by the raising of the National flag and singing the National anthem. It was an historic occasion captured to the full in these photos.
Read more →On Sunday, 21st February, Ms. Donohoe and Ms. Mahon brought a group of 5th and 6th Year Classical Studies students to Rome to see at first hand Roman architecture, art and artefacts. They all had a magnificent time, helped by glorious sunshine. Thank you to Ms. Donohoe for organising such a brilliant trip!

There were many prizes as part of the fundraising raffle and in a tightly fought contest, "Dancer" were the winning table! Well done to the 5th Year LCVP students, Ms. Brouder and all others who donated or helped with the quiz.

Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th December, Stratford College students, parents and friends were treated to a dancing and musical extravaganza when mainly 1st Year to TY students presented "Grease - The Musical". Both shows were fantastic. Well done to everyone involved and to Ms. Cahill, Ms. Conlon and Ms. Mahon in particular, as well as Brendan for ensuring the hall was set up.
