What is the project about?
The Department of Education launched the revised Wellbeing Policy Statement and Framework for Practice in October 2019. Schools have been asked to use the school self-evaluation (SSE) process to initiate a wellbeing promotional review and development cycle by 2025. The recording would be used to learn how our school communities (primary and post-primary) have used the framework to promote wellbeing in their school context. The recordings will be used to help schools better understand how wellbeing can be reviewed using the SSE process and integrated into school improvement plans.
Why has Stratford College been asked to participate?
Our school was identified by the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST) (now OIDE) as being associated with good practice in terms of implementation of the Wellbeing Policy Statement and Framework for Practice. Our Well Being Theme this year is Disconnect to Reconnect. Read here and here for more details.
What will happen to the videos of the project?
Findings will be shared with Oide and gov.ie. It may also be used by NEPS during Teacher Professional learning (TPL) events on Esinet or by the Communication section within the Department of Education.
Congratulations to our staff and students who took part in this project. Our school community is very proud of your contribution to sharing good practice to inform other schools.
