TY's compete in SciFest@Schools with their coding projects

Read more →The TY's competed in the SciFest@Schools Technology competition with their coding projects on Thursday, 10th December. Two external judges joined the class through Zoom and Teams to judge each of the group projects!
Read more →On Wednesday, 11th December the TY students, who had been working all term on their group coding projects using Scratch 3.0, presented really excellent projects to Mr Hugo Rowsome from SciFest.

Read more →Having worked diligently on their Scratch games and applications since September, and armed with explanatory posters and their Design Process log to show all the work that went into the design of these computer games, the TYs were ready to face the SciFest judges on Wednesday, 19th December.
Read more →On Tuesday, 19th December the TY students presented their coding projects for inspection to two external judges as part of the SciFest@Schools competition (Intermediate Technology category). In groups of 2 or 3, students had to present both their coding projects as well as explain the design process. Some of the winning groups will represent Stratford in the SciFest@College competition next May in IT Blanchardstown.

In January they competed in a second SciFest@Schools competition with Science projects organised by Mr. Fennell and Ms. O'Sullivan. The winning project by Lauren, Rebecca and Grace was to test if a genre of music influenced the growth of a plant. Find out the results by reading on!
Read more →In a busy week for the TY students, two external judges examined their Scratch programming projects in the second strand of the SciFest@Stratford competition held on Tuesday, 8th March. Congratulations to Gabriel Messam for his individual project and to Cormac Kelly, Jake Henry and Geordan Sheridan O'Brien for their group projects - they were deemed joint winners.
Read more →On Monday, 7th March, the TY Science students were visited by two external judges as part of the SciFest@schools competition. The TYs put in a lot of work in a broad range of biodiversity projects. Well done to Alannah Anderson and Conor Doheny who were deemed the winners with their "Affirmations and Meditation" project. They will compete in the SciFest@College competition in early May.
