Stratford TY students participate in annual National Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration

On Sunday, 27th January, TY students attended the annual National Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration in the Mansion House. It is organised by the Holocaust Education Trust Ireland (HETI) to commemorate the six million Jewish people who were killed during World War 2.

TY students, Jeremy Messam, Popi McHale and Josh Barling read out the names of some of the victims. Candles were lit to symbolise the six million Jewish people killed. President Michael D Higgins, Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney, Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan, Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy and Holocaust survivors Tomi Reichental, Suzi Diamond and Walter Sekules were among those in attendance.
