Junior Cycle Classical Studies teachers get their first in-service training of revised curriculum

On Tuesday, 20th November Junior Cycle Classical Studies teachers had the first in-service training day on the newly revised curriculum. Stratford College was part of this process.

According to the NCCA website: "Classical Studies at Junior Cycle focuses on the study of the life and culture of Ancient Greece and Rome and of their continuing influence on the world today. This syllabus is for first, second and third year students in post-primary education. It is assessed by examination at the end of third year at Higher and Ordinary levels." 

Classics, in this new revision, will be taken by first year students from September 2019.

Almost half the students of Stratford College marched to Dáil Éireann, along with some of their teachers on Friday, 15th March as part of the Strike 4 Climate Change protest. Walking from Rathgar, through Rathmines and then around St. Stephen's Stratford students made their voices heard with their banners, whistles and chants.
