Arts Week 2015 - art and wellbeing

NEWS / 9 December 2015

Wellbeing Arts Week 2015 lived up to the posters! Held from Monday, 16th November through to Friday, 20th November, there were activities and workshops for every student and teacher alike. Watch the video of photographs taken throughout the week to the soundtrack of the whole school choir! Kate Dempsey, 6th Year, reviewed the week at the 6th Year assembly held in late November.

This year’s Arts Week was a very memorable and enjoyable experience for all involved. The main theme was wellbeing and it encouraged us to be mindful of our health, both mental and physical. Daily Wake up Sessions, facilitated by Miss Finnegan, persuaded us to start our day with a burst of energy and enthusiasm. Meditation and mindfulness was also on offer for all students at lunch time. The resource office was transformed into a space of serenity and peace.

We had many exciting events organised throughout the week, including a collective music experience with Miss Shelley Bukspan. Trips to Collins Barracks as well as the cinema were extremely successful and we thank all the subject teachers involved.

We also saw many new creative initiatives such as the Haiku and photography competitions as well as the inspiring Key of Change Tree. We would really like to thanks Ms. Reynolds and Ms Gordon for all their hard work and effort in creating this fun pact week.

Also we would like to draw attention to all the teachers and students who helped in organising the bio diversity garden.
