The Library Book Club choice for October is "We Come Apart" by Brian Conaghan and Sarah Crossan - two award winning authors. Great Reads Award 2017: students asked to read and rate Junior and Senior books
The Great Reads Award 2017 is up and running, with the shortlisted books now available to borrow from the Library. Now in its second year, the Great Reads Award is organised by the School Library Association in Ireland (SLARI). Students read the books and rate them in two categories - Junior and Senior. The author with the most ratings in each category win a prize. The school with the most rating entries also win a prize! read more →
Summer Reading for students and parents alike
With the start of the summer holidays, students should be actively encouraged by their parents/guardians to read for pleasure and parents/guardians should also read as an example to them. Go to your local public library, join your local public library summer reading programme or ask your friends what they'd recommend to read. World Book Day Award 2017: Stratford College awarded Runners Up prize
World Book Day 2017 - Thursday, 2nd March - started off on a high note when it was announced that Stratford College was one of the runners up in the annual World Book Day Award competition. 76,000 students from all over England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland took part in the competition, so an award to be very proud of. read more →

World Book Day Celebrations in Stratford: author Alan Glynn visits the school
Thursday, 2nd March was World Book Day. Stratford students celebrated it by dressing up on the theme of "Where's Wally?" (and to also celebrate Purim). Dressing up was also a fund-raiser and €50 was raised for the Capuchin Homeless Day Centre. The annual book sale in aid of St. Michael's House was held by the TYs - just over €60 was raised.
