Stratford Schools Parents Associations hosted a coffee morning with a presentation by Yanky Fachler, titled "Chutzpah: Unlocking the Maverick Mindset for Success", on Wednesday, 9th May. Refreshments were provided at 8.30am in the school hall. The presentation commenced at 9am and the event was over by 10.30am. (Click on thumbnail to open an enlarged version of image.)
Yanky Fachler runs High Octane Communication which helps clients improve their written, spoken and non-verbal communication skills. Yanky has the Chutzpah to describe himself as a Renaissance Man: corporate trainer, copywriter, author, speaking coach, newspaper columnist, keynote speaker, motivator, conference facilitator and ideas generator. His books include Fire in the Belly, and My Family Doesn't Understand Me, which challenges the myth of family support for entrepreneurs.
All were welcome, including parents of children attending Stratford schools, other friends of the schools including staff and past pupils, as well as members of the local community.

Stratford Schools Parents Associations held a Coffee Morning and Presentation at 8.30am on Wednesday 25 April, 2012 in the schools hall. The presentation was about ‘A personal experience of inter-country adoption’ by Cormac Murphy. You can view the presentation as a PDF file.
Cormac has adopted two children over the last 8 years and will talk about the experience both from a legal and humanitarian perspective. You probably know someone who has adopted from outside of Ireland and are curious as to what is involved. Maybe even someone in your own family is an adoptive parent but there are questions you have not asked? Perhaps inter-country adoption is something you are considering? The National Parents' Council (NCP) are in the process of organising the Annual Conference for 2012. This year the conference will be held in the Sheraton Athlone Hotel on the 12th and 13th of October. This year they are calling on you, the parents and Parent Association members to let them know what you would like to see on the agenda in October.
Last year for the very first time the National Parents’ Council Post Primary member organisations (COMPASS + CSPA + FEDCBS + NPAVSCC + PACCS = NPCpp) came together to host a joint conference for all parents of students in second level schools. The conference was attended by up to 200 parents and Parent Associations from around the country and deemed a great success.
