Ms. O'Kelly needs your help - bring in your favourite childhood book (with your name on it) so that it can be displayed in the Library. If you have books that you no longer want, then bring them in for the Bring A Book, Buy A Book sale in aid of St. Michael's House. Ms. O'Kelly will collect all the books.

During the summer of 2011 the basketball courts were resurfaced. Now you can watch the step-by-step process of the courts being transformed by going to the Fitness Functions website. It took six days to resurface the courts. What a difference! (Click on thumbnail to open an enlarged version of image.)

To mark the start of Anti-Bullying Week 2012 next week, the UK anti-bullying charity, Beatbullying, is mobilising hundreds of thousands of young people from around the world, together with celebrities, politicians, charities, businesses and communities to launch The Big March 2012, the world's first global virtual march for children's rights.
Beatbullying is calling for people around the world to support The Big March 2012, which will take place on January 31st 2012: from Manchester to Mumbai, from Naples to New Orleans, from Jerusalem to Johannesburg, and from Budapest to Brasilia.
Predicted to last up to two days, the march will culminate with the delivery of a petition to the United Nations Building in New York; asking the United Nations to explicitly enshrine 'bullying' in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
“The right of every child to be safe from bullying, violence and the fear of violence by their peers as well as from abuse by adults.”
This will help to protect children all over the world from the pain and distress of bullying and harassment. If successful, it will be the first time that the Convention has been updated in over 10 years.
The National Anti-Bullying Coalition and NPCpp has signed up for the march and we would like to see a big Irish presence. Please consider joining us by registering at http://www.beatbullying.org/bigmarch
You will find more information and a toolkit for use on facebook, twitter and websites/blogs if you wish, at http://www.beatbullying.org/index.html
